03/28/2008 - Downloads are back up.
Any more shenanigans from you, Peter Peter Bandwidth Eater, and you better start running.
Everybody else...please download responsibly. No direct linking to files if you can help it; pages are fine, though.
03/26/2008 - Downloads will be down for a little while.
For those of you who have been paying attention, this is likely old news.
I don't know why, I don't know who, but something is eating my site's bandwidth. Maybe Googlepages is just sucking as usual, or some prankster thinks it's funny to download the same file over and over, or maybe some innocent newbie found something they liked and showed it to 200-or-so different friends...
In any case, nobody (including myself) can access the content on my site, so for the time being I've deleted everything - everything - excluding, obviously, the actual web pages themselves. Because I can track the hits those get, unlike the files, and I'm not receiving nearly enough traffic to warrant the Orange Screen of Death coming up every time I try to access one of my files. Hopefully this (drastic) measure will dissuade any pranksters from DDoS'ing me, or persuade the Series of Tubers to actually check my webpage and find out just how they're clogging the pipes.
In brief: yes, I know you all love my reading of Repercussions of Evil, but please, if you want to keep hearing it, download it to your hard drive instead of adding to the server load. The Internet thanks you.
03/12/2008 - Breath of Fire 2 Gets Its Own Page.
What can I say? I've added a new page for the Breath of Fire 2 English Retranslation Project. Mostly so I can show off new screenshots when the mood takes me. Enjoy.
03/03/2008 - Catastrophe? Not quite.
A bit late, but I've updated the Structure Deck Marik list on the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters OCG Structure Deck Card Listing page to use the official "Malevolent Catastrophe" name instead of "Calamity of the Wicked".
Jury's still out on "Viser Des", but I'll keep you posted.
02/26/2008 - The Wait Is Over!
...Or more accurately, it's just begun again, this time with a different context.
That's right...if you've been following the progress of the Breath of Fire 2 retranslation (or lack thereof), you know that the project has been indefinitely logjammed for the past 3 months owing to a bug in the string printing routines (fixed strings for locations and spell names would be truncated in certain contexts) and project mastermind d4s' apparent disappearance from the English-speaking scene.
Today, just for the hey of it, I gave fixing the bug another shot. And this time, I squashed it, as far as I can tell.
So I really have no excuse now for not hammering out one more rewrite of my script, going over sundry details and making sure everything is in shape, and making preparations for beta testing in a month or three. All I'll say is that it'll hopefully be beta-ready before Fall, which gives me a fairly wide margin of error.
Oh, and if something seems missing, that's because I've decided to clean up my front page. Older news is now relegated to the news archive, which you can reach from the link on the left. I've been repeatedly considering overhauling my entire site, but alas, Googlepages is a cranky beast to work with. That's the price you pay for the convenience of 100MB free webspace to work with, I suppose. ^_^;
